Purpose,
for a living organism, is an
evolutionary advance from mere consciousness.
To pursue a Purpose requires traits of IPSO; and presupposes qualities
of morality that interject group welfare.
It can be said that purpose for a sentient being is the acquisition of
knowledge; so as to improve an understanding of "truth," which is
relative, in such a way as to further the comfort and survival of the
individual, species, etc. within the pertinent environment in such a way
as to extend evolution.
Purpose is a major component of the quest of STP
for knowledge and wisdom along with other components; such as: answers
to the questions: Where have we come from?; and, Where are we going?
